Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful December so far and enjoy this holiday season. Today I wanted to share with you a few products I received from Trimaco that have helped some of my painting projects go more smoothly.
Our kitchen ceiling was in major need of painting. It definitely didn’t look white and it had little stains all over. I should have done it before we got our flooring and countertops installed, but we had other projects happening at the time and I didn’t get around to it. Trimaco sent me some awesome products to help keep the paint splatters off the countertops, floors and table, which helped out a ton and were super easy to use.
- The first product that I used were these Wonder Rags. I kept one with me while I was on the ladder cutting in and anytime there was a drip, I had it right there with me to wipe away, and they worked great! They didn’t leave any smears, the paint absorbed quickly into the rag, and I was able to use one rag for the whole kitchen – one definitely goes a long way.
2. This is probably my favorite product I have used from Trimaco. It’s a Stay Put Surface Protector pad, and it does exactly that. It comes in a big roll like the one shown below, and the back side sticks to your surface. It worked great in my kitchen, I put it along the trim and just moved it wherever I was painting and once it was in place it didn’t move until I tore it back up again. I also used it on our carpet as I have been painting some cabinets for our built-ins and loved how it stayed in place and protected the carpet there as well.
3. This is perfect for anyone painting kitchens because you can cover up cabinets and counter tops really easily. It has painters tape on it and then a plastic sheet underneath, so I taped it to my walls and then let the plastic drape over my counters and cabinets. It worked perfectly. 🙂
4. And then there is the Butyl Dropcloth. This thing is the bomb. It’s leakproof, heavy duty and durable, and it stays put on your surface and doesn’t slide. I used to put down plastic to protect my surfaces while painting, but I always ended up getting paint where I shouldn’t have because it would bunch up, stick to my feet, or slide all over the place. Or if I was outside a little breeze would start and would blow the plastic onto whatever I was painting. With this dropcloth, you don’t get any of that. We have already used it for multiple projects in the kitchen, dining room and living room. It’s a good investment because it will last you a long time.
Here is a picture of our kitchen all ready prepped and ready to be painted. The clean up was a breeze and I loved the peace of mind I had knowing that if there were drips that my furniture and floors would be protected. Thank you Trimaco for making my paint job a whole lot easier!

I am getting so close to showing you our final kitchen reveal. The ceiling made a huge difference in brightening up the room, along with the new light fixtures we installed. It’s almost there! Thanks for sticking with me through this, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
