Happy 2018! I hope you all had a great holiday season and that you are ready for to embark into 2018 with new goals and adventures. I truly love January to think of the possibilities of the upcoming year with hope and excitement for changes that I want to make in my life, especially when it comes to my home. Probably like you, I have a list of improvements that need to be made, or projects that I would like done that even if they don’t happen in the time frame planned, it’s fun to envision and dream.
This 2018 color forecast will hopefully inspire you, whether you want to paint a piece of furniture, change a room, or maybe you are building a new home and need a whole house color palette. It’s great to think of the possibilities and January is a great time to start.
I love Oceanside as it is shown. I think it would look great on a piece of furniture, it would be such a fun door color, or would look great in a laundry room with white cabinets. See more 2018 inspiration from Sherwin-Williams.
In the Moment by Behr is a softer blue that could work well in any room, but I especially love it for a girls bedroom, bathroom, or master bedroom.
I also love these neutrals from Behr. This would make a great whole house color palette with Soft Focus and Quiet Time as your main colors and the rest as accents. See more color inspiration for 2018 at Behr.com.PPG paints also has some beautiful colors that they are forecasting for this upcoming year. Black Flame can add contrast to any room-I especially love it some of the pictures shown below.
Doesn’t it make the windows and door pop in this photo? It looks amazing with the white walls.
I also love it as a kitchen island color. I’m not sure I would paint the walls and the island Black Flame, but if you did a more neutral color on the walls like PPG Synchronicity and then the island Black Flame, I think that look so pretty.
Last but not least, Benjamin Moore’s color of the year is bold and read to make a big statement. I feel like it has been a while since red has been in the picture. I remember back in the early 2000’s when red was all the rage, maybe it’s making it’s comeback?
If you’re not into red, I love the other colors that Benjamin Moore introduced in their palette this year. I wouldn’t mind trying them all. You could put together a coastal paint scheme with Carolina Gull, Coastal Path, and Dreamy Cloud or a modern Farmhouse paint scheme with Silver Marlin or Moonshine, Stone and Black Beauty.
It’s an exciting time of year and I hope that yours if full of good health, love, adventure and trying new things – even if it’s just paint colors. Thanks so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate you and am grateful for my readers. Happy 2018!
