Hey there! Happy December! I hope everyone is staying healthy this holiday season. I wanted to share a few updates of my daughter’s “teen” room and also give you a small Christmas tour of our home.
When we first built 4 years ago we went on a search for the perfect pink paint color and found one we loved. As kids grow older their taste changes and my 12 year old daughter decided that pink had to go. So we ordered a bunch of samples from Samplize, my favorite way to sample paint. (See why here) Together we decided on a color that would make her room look a little more grown up and sophisticated.
Here is the pink before:
And here is progress…
I also want to put board and batten on the green accent wall. That is our next project. We also need to hang pictures, art and add a few finishing touches like pillows and greenery to her room but we at least have the paint secure.
After looking at multiple samples from Samplize, she decided to go with Evergreen Fog by Sherwin-Williams for her accent color. She decided on Alabaster by Sherwin-Williams for the rest of the walls.
I do have to say that I could not capture a true shade of what Evergreen Fog looks like with my camera. It is much more sagey than it is in the picture. Much more true to the swatch you see on the screen. I do love it though and am excited to keep working on finishing her room.
That’s our progress so far! I’m excited to show you how we picked out our paint colors and also some other paint color options for a teen girls bedroom after the holidays.
Another exciting thing we are currently working on is finishing our basement! Eek. I’m excited to give updates on that as well.
Also, I wanted to share a few pictures of our home at Christmas time. I am sitting on our couch writing this with our Christmas tree lights on and the snow falling down outside. I really do love this time of year.
Here is our front porch! Our exterior door is painted Web Gray by Sherwin-Williams at 150% strength and the rest of our home is Alabaster by Sherwin-Williams.
All items but the basket were bought at our local Walmart, Better Homes and Gardens collection.
Here is our living room. It is right off the kitchen and where the heart of our home is. I feel like this (and our kitchen) sees the most action and our tree is definitely the place we all want to gather to watch movies and read Christmas books together.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that you can feel the joy this season brings. I hope to be back soon with more paint updates. Thanks so much for stopping by!
