Happy 2023! I hope you all have some exciting things planned this year, including paint projects. When it comes to paint, the choices can be overwhelming. To help you make the right call, here are 2023’s most popular paint color trends and tones, including my personal favorites.
Sherwin-Williams Paint Color Trends
I am going to be honest, I was not in love with the Sherwin-Williams’ 2023 Color of the Year “Redend Point.” This color was not one that struck my eye and I instantly thought, “this is a color I would never use.” I am happy to say that I have changed my mind and have loved some of the inspiration photos from Sherwin-Williams and also from other influencers. “Redend Point” is a blush, beige very earthy tone that reminds me of the National Parks of Southern Utah and Arizona, two places which I love to visit because of the unique landscape. I love how it looks paired with other earthy colors – greens, whites, reds, browns and blues.
Here are a few inspiration photos of how to use it in your own home. I personally love it as an accent wall in a bathroom, bedroom or entryway as seen below.
If you decide to use “Redend Point” on an upcoming project but aren’t sure of coordinating colors? Sherwin-Williams has you covered. Here is a list of coordinating colors to go with the 2023 Paint Color of the Year.

Benjamin Moore 2023 Paint Color Trends
Benjamin Moore “Raspberry Blush” is a bold, fun, rustic and bright color. It’s probably not one that I would paint in my home, unless I decided to add some color with a fun piece of furniture to brighten up my space.
If I lived by the coast or in the Caribbean, this color would fit right in. Here are a couple of pics from Benjamin Moore that give you an idea of what this color might look like in your space.

Behr 2023 Paint Color Trends
Oh Behr. These pictures put my soul at ease. I have to say out of all of the 2023 paint colors, Behr is my top favorite. This year Behr chose “Blank Canvas” as their top color. It is clean, versatile, a great neutral and classic. I love it in all of these spaces pictured below. I love this color so much that it is a top contender for our basement that we are currently working on finishing. (More on that later)
I am also in love with Behr’s coordinating paint colors for “Blank Canvas”. I put together my top 9 coordinating colors below.
Paint colors from left to right: (All by Behr Paint) Top Row: Vine Leaf, Vintage Pewter, Midnight Blue
Middle Row: Half Sea Fog, Hybrid, Vermillion
Bottom Row: Perfect Taupe, Sophisticated Teal, Conifer Green.
Valspar
Valspar’s 2023 Color of the Year is Ivory Brown. I wouldn’t use this color in every space, but it can look beautiful as an accent wall, cabinet paint color, or paired with a great white as pictured below.
(This picture was a from this post I did on Ivory Brown a few years ago. )
Ceiling color: custom mix
Southern Soul Mates
Coordinating colors and other 2023 hot picks can be found on Valspar’s website. A few that caught my eye:
Bottom Row: Everglade Deck, Green Trellis, Southern Road.
Glidden and PPG Color of the Year
Good Housekeeping
Last but not least is PPG and Glidden’s 2023 Color of the Year. Vining Ivy is a beautiful teal blue paint that would look amazing in any space if you want to add boldness and richness to any room. It would also look great on a piece of furniture you want to spruce up.
Whew, we got through the hottest and trendiest paint colors of 2023. I hope this recap will help you narrow down a color that will be perfect for your home and space. 2023 has a lot of brown and earthy tones: reds, browns, creams, but also some very bold almost jewel toned color that will liven up any space. You get to be the artist!
