Hey there! Wow, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted! Life has been busy, but I’m excited to show you some updates in our home we have been working on and to get back to posting more paint inspiration.
Today I want to show you a bathroom update complete with our wallpaper, plus the coordinating paint.
When we built our house, we decided to buy a premade vanity to put in our powder room to save money on cabinetry. I never loved it for multiple reasons:
- the paint started to chip on the cabinets
- the quartz on top was dull and lost it’s shine
- there were water marks all over the countertop that I was not able to get off.
(If you are building or remodeling a bathroom I would highly recommend splurging on custom cabinets because the durability is much better.)
While we were picking out cabinetry for our unfinished basement I decided to get this bathroom cabinetry while we were biting the bullet.
Here is the before. It worked great but was our bathroom was a little dull.

We sold our old vanity on Craigslist, got our new one installed and then I added some wallpaper behind it to add some color and character to the room.
I will tell you, the wallpaper was the most stressful 3 hours of my life. It was my first time hanging wallpaper. It is not perfect, but I’m glad I did it and I love the way that it turned out.

Here is the after! It’s made all the difference in making our bathroom feel complete with character and the room feels much bigger.

We bought the cabinets at Home Depot – they are the shaker design painted the color “Boulder”.

Two tools that helped tremendously when hanging the wallpaper:
