Exterior Paint Color Help

I recently received an email from one of my readers and I wanted to share it with you today. Hopefully it can help anyone else that is needing help with picking out their exterior paint color. Here is what she wrote:

“Hi Kristin,

Love your site and love that you actually list paint colors in detail. That’s soooooooo helpful!

Here’s one that I couldn’t find the paint colors. I’d love to know what was used on the siding, what white color was used for the trim too. I know the door color but if you could help with the other two colors….that would be super helpful!! I think I’d like to paint our home these colors.”

I realized that I never shared the paint color of the body our house with you.

Do you remember the before?

Before we painted I did a ton of sampling and decided to go with Functional Gray by Sherwin-Williams. We bought a big 5 gallon bucket and as we sprayed a bigger area I could definitely see a pink hue in this color, which I knew would bug me. I took it back to the paint store 3 or 4 times for them to tweak it and eliminate the pink. I loved how the final color turned out.

Here is the final formula for a 1 gallon on the left and 5 gallon on the right.

Here are the final colors used in our exterior home makeover. I was so happy with how this gray turned out, I hope it can help someone else who is in the same situation.
